The Regional Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Savannah Region has issued a stern condemnation of recent acts of vandalism allegedly carried out by individuals identified as party supporters in Bole.
According to a statement signed by the Regional Secretary, Salisu Be-Awuribe, the individuals in question were reportedly destroying NDC signboards in protest against the perceived exclusion of their preferred candidates from President Mahama’s ministerial appointments.
Describing the actions as “barbaric” and “anti-party,” the NDC leadership has distanced itself from the group, emphasizing that such behavior is unlawful and detrimental to the party’s image. The committee stated unequivocally that any party member found involved in these acts would face the party’s disciplinary measures.
The NDC has called on the Ghana Police Service in the Savannah Region to launch a thorough investigation and prosecute all individuals directly or indirectly connected to the vandalism. The party urged the police to act decisively to deter similar behavior in the future.
The statement further appealed to NDC supporters and Ghanaians at large to remain calm and have faith in President John Dramani Mahama’s ability to appoint a competent team to lead the nation’s recovery efforts.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to law and order and emphasized that unity and discipline among its members remain critical to achieving its objectives.
The call for calm and action comes as tensions rise in the region following the ongoing ministerial appointments by President Mahama.
