Yagbonwura Declares 4th December As Gonjaland Prayers Day For Ghana

The King and Overlord of Gonja, Yagbonwura Tutumba Bore Esa I, through the registrar, Gonja Traditional Council, Abutu Kapori, is calling on the Paramount Chiefs of the Gonja kingdom, the Muslim and Christian leaders to embark on general prayers for peace before, during and after the 2020 general elections.
The Gonja Traditional Council registrar in a release stated that “all paramount chiefs of the Gonja Kingdom on the 4th of December 2020, should observe a Quranic recitation and prayers for free, fair, and peaceful election before, during and after election 2020. His Majesty urges all paramount chiefs to consider this exercise with the utmost esteem it deserves”.

SAVANNAH REGION PEACEFUL PRAYER FOR GHANA’S ELECTION 2020
In view of the up-coming general election 2020, of the Republic of Ghana to choose a President and Members of Parliament to run Ghana’s administration for the next four years, His Royal Majesty, Yagbonwura King of Gonja Kingdom and life President of the Savannah Region House of Chiefs, in consultation with the council of elders of the Gonja Kingdom, resolved that;
All paramount chiefs of the Gonja Kingdom on the 4th of December 2020 observe as Quranic recitation and prayers for free, fair, and peaceful election before, during and after election 2020. His Majesty urge all paramount chiefs to consider this exercise with the utmost esteem it deserves
All churches and other Christian denominations across the length and breadth of the Savannah Region should also observe a special prayer for free, fair and peaceful election before, during and after election 2020.
His Majesty and the council wish with high esteem that the Christian community in the Savannah Region will expedite swift action in this regard.
Buipewura Jinapor II Vice President of the Gonja Traditional Council who equally doubles as Vice President of the Savannah Region House of chiefs will also on Friday 4th December, 2020 have audience with all Fulani clerics in the Savannah Region and beyond at the Buipewura palace to observe a special prayer for free, fair and peaceful election before, during and after election 2020.
His Majesty and all Paramount chiefs will be working in collaboration with the security apparatus of the savannah region. The traditional authority in the Savannah Region is prepared to hand over any individual or perpetrator who will misconduct himself or herself before, during and after election 2020 for the law to take its course.
All media houses in the Savannah Region should find place out of their busy schedules make announcement of this invaluable decision of the Kingdom twice per day as you run your activities.
His Majesty as Ghana goes to the polls, wish Ghana well and all contesting individuals for free, fair and peaceful election 2020.
