Thieves have broken into three (3) shops at Damongo on Wednesday August 4, 2021 and made away with goods and cash.

The shops include Gambo enterprise, premier boutique and Kofi kontoh Drug store along the main Street of Damongo in the West Gonja Municipality of the Savannah region. The thieves made away with some cash and goods valuing thousands of Ghana Cedis at about 1am of Wednesday 4th August, 2021, during a heavy down pour in the community.

Narrating his ordeal, Mr Gambo, owner of one of the shops said he received information that thieves had broken into his shop earlier in the morning and upon getting to the shop, he noticed several provisions were made away with including his three days sales cash and that of his transport business all amounting to thousands of Cedis.

Another victim, Madam Gifty, owner of premier boutique on the other hand said she was shocked at the incident and couldn’t say much. She disclosed that some cash, Jean trousers and other clothes were made away by the thieves during their operations and that so devastated at the time the news team visited and that she is yet to ascertain other valuables that were taken way by the thieves.

Owner of Kofi kontoh chemical store (Pharmacy), said he was a bit fortunate due to the installations of some CCTV cameras in his shop. The thieves broke into the shop but upon noticing that the shop had cameras installed in it, refused to operate despite breaking into the shop.

According to the three shop owners, they have no idea on who might have committed this crime and the incident has since been reported to the Damongo police station for further investigations.
