The Member of Parliament for Damongo constituency who doubles as the Minister for lands and natural resources Hon Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor has hinted that he has sourced for some funds to quick start his Damongo constituency women support program in the Damongo constituency in August 2020.
According to the legislature, he has set up and inaugurated a committee to start working towards the implementation and the realisation of the Damongo constituency women financial support package.
The package when started will give the women in the constituency the needed capital to enable them set up their own business to enhance their livelihood and to as well alleviate the women in the constituency from poverty.
This is in fulfilment of a campaign Promise made to the women in the Damongo constituency during the just ended 2020 campaign season.
The then candidate for the New Patriotic party, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor called on all women in the constituency to rally behind him and to vote massively for him and when he win the seat to represent them in parliament he will lobby to establish a women empowerment funds to support the women to engage in sustainable business ventures in the Damongo constituency.
He further stated that, the support package is for all women in the constituency irrespective of their political and tribal affiliations. ” I am an MP for the entire people of the Damongo constituency I am not an MP for only NPP members and my work as the MP for the Damongo constituency is to see to it that no one is discriminated against based on their political and tribal affiliations. The women support package for that matter, will be given to all deserving women in the constituency irrespective of your political party or tribe ” He stressed.
The MP said this, when scores of people in the constituency were gathered at the MP’S office to eat, drink and make marry to mark the Eid celebration. lawyer Abu Jinapor ahead of the Eid celebration inaugurated the the Damongo constituency MP’S office and also invite the entire Muslim family to come celebrate the Eid with him at the MP’S office.
