A brief but impactful ceremony was held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the Savannah Regional Education Office conference room, in Damongo, where the regional branch of the Conference of Heads of Basic Schools (COHBS) presented forty (40) chairs to support the operations of the conference room.
The gesture, made through the Municipal and District Directors of Education (MMDEs), was formally handed over to the Savannah Regional Director of Education, Mr. Bright A. Lawoe, by the Regional Chairman of COHBS, Mr. Seku, and his team.
The conference room, had been operating without furniture, compelling the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the region to rely on rented chairs for official programmes and meetings. The provision of the chairs is therefore expected to significantly improve the usability of the space.
Speaking at the ceremony, a representative of COHBS underscored the association’s commitment to enhancing administrative efficiency and promoting a conducive working environment for educational leadership. He noted that the intervention forms part of COHBS’ broader efforts to support education management across the region.
Receiving the items, Mr. Bright A. Lawoe expressed profound gratitude to COHBS for the timely support. He indicated that the furniture would greatly enhance the conduct of meetings, training sessions, and other official engagements, thereby strengthening coordination and decision-making within the regional education directorate.

The ceremony ended on a note of strengthened collaboration between COHBS and the Regional Directorate, reaffirming the critical role of partnerships in advancing quality education in the Savannah Region.
