The Gonjaland Youth Association (GLYA) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to youth empowerment by providing financial assistance to student contestants who participated in the Savannah Heritage Beauty Pageant, an event held as part of activities marking the 50th Anniversary Celebration in Buipe.
The presentation ceremony was held at the Buipewura’s Palace, where beneficiaries received cash donations to support their educational pursuits. The recipients comprise students from various tertiary institutions and a senior high school, representing the traditional areas of Buipe, Bole, Sawla, Kpembe and Damongo.

The beneficiaries are:
• Abdul Karim Hariat Titiaka (Buipe) – University of Ghana
• Issah Khadijah (Sawla) – University of Cape Coast
• Adam Saeeda – Kumasi Technical University
• Abass Hadijah Kanyitiwaale (Bole) – University of Education, Winneba
• Dramani Munaya – Bole Nursing Training College
• Mashkurat Nyefianoto Abubakari (Damongo) – University of Professional Studies, Accra
• Abdul Razak Rashida Kenyiti – University of Professional Studies, Accra
• Nbifo Sulemana Alimatu Sadia (Kpembe) – Tamale Senior High School
Addressing the gathering, the Buipewura, Abdulai Jinapor II, commended GLYA for its unwavering dedication to youth development and urged the Association to remain steadfast in its mission of empowering young people across Gonjaland.

He stressed that the youth are the future leaders of the Gonja Kingdom and encouraged the Association to continue investing in education, leadership development and programmes that promote the welfare and advancement of young people.
The President of GLYA, Al-Hassan Baba Darison, reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to supporting the educational and personal development of the youth. He described education as one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives and pledged that GLYA would continue to champion initiatives that create opportunities for young people to realise their full potential.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Miss Issah Khadijah expressed profound appreciation to GLYA for the timely intervention, describing the support as a major source of motivation. She assured the Association that the beneficiaries would remain committed to their academic pursuits and serve as worthy ambassadors of Gonjaland.

The intervention forms part of GLYA’s broader vision of promoting education, youth empowerment and the socio-economic development of Gonjaland through impactful initiatives that inspire hope and contribute to building a brighter future for the next generation.
