Two (2) persons are feared dead as suspected armed robbers on Thursday, 9th December, 2021, attacked mobile phone shops and mobile money vendors operating in the Sawla township in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region.
padfm.com.gh sources say the robbers carried out their operations at the town at about 13:00hrs GMT and operated for about 30 minutes and made away with an unspecified amount of money.
The robbers then fled the scene when their operations came to the attention of residents.
A group of young men made a follow up in search for the robbers in the outskirts of Sawla township where the robbers shot sporadically and engaged the group in a gun duel which led to the killing of the two in a community called Kodanyina near Sawla.
The police in the Sawla – Tuna – Kalba district in collaboration with the chiefs of the area have since released the bodies of the two deceased young men to their families for burial preparations and also commenced investigations into the incident.
