A division two club based in Yapei in the Central Gonja district of the Savannah region known as Yapei fc has qualified to play in the 2024/25 division one league. The team won all the three (3) Northern Regional Football Association’s middle league matches hosted in Yendi in June 2024. They defeated Kubumgu Biebiem fc, Boresa fc of Buipe, and Soccer Angels of Tamale to get the knod to represent the Northern Regional Football Association in next season division one league.
Yapei United secured promotion on Wednesday 3rd June, 2024 after beating Tamale Soccer Angels 2-1 at the Yendi Astro Turf on the final day.
As such, the National Sports Authority (NSA) in the Savannah Region on behalf of the Savannah Regional Coordinating Council has congratulated Yapei Fc on their promotion to the division one league
In a congratulatory statement signed and copied this source by the Savannah Regional Sports Director (Ag), Mr. Alhassan Ibrahim Jihad, the NSA extends congratulatory and gratitude message to the team for their hard work and dedication.
The statement further urged Yapei fc to ensure the same level of commitment and determination for future success in the division one league next season and beyond.
