The Savannah Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana affectionately called Prof Kalamonia has made a donation of some valuable items to the SAVANNAH REGIONAL ISLAMIC COUNCIL UNIT.
The revered Chairman met with the council at his residence on Saturday, January 29, 2022, in Damongo.
All the leadership of the seven (7) constituencies including their regional executives were present at the visit.
They discussed issues pertaining to the growth of the Islamic religion in the region and how stakeholders can help in making the Islamic Council a well structured and recognized institution in the region.
As part of their discussions, leadership appealed for mobility support to aid them move round the entire region to enumerate the various Islamic clerics and groups in the districts within the region.
Chairman Professor Kalamonia presented a brand new Apsonic motorbike to the Savannah Regional Islamic Council and an undisclosed amount of money and some Holy Qurans to the Savannah regional Islamic Council.
The Savannah Regional Islamic Council Unit Chairman Sheikh Abubakari Gozabere thanked the Savannah regional Chairman for his kind support towards the work of Allah. He further recounted how instrumental Professor Kalamonia has been in the formation of the Council in the region and even called him the “Father” of Islamic Council Unit in the Savannah region.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to grant him good health and grace to enable him continue to support the course of Allah.
