The North East Regional Director of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Mr. Robert K. Laari, has officially launched the North East Youth Achievers Awards (NEYAA 2025) under the theme “Celebrating Young Excellence, Inspiring Greatness.”
The initiative, launched in Nalerigu, seeks to recognize, celebrate, and inspire young achievers who are driving innovation, promoting peace, and leading positive change across the North East Region. The program has already sparked overwhelming excitement, more than 100 youth applied within the first 24 hours of nominations opening.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Laari said the awards are not just a platform for recognition but a movement to empower young people to realize their potential and inspire others.
“Our region is full of brilliant young people making real impact in agriculture, entrepreneurship, climate action, education, and social transformation. North East Youth Achievers Awards is here to tell their stories, celebrate their excellence, and inspire others to dream bigger,” he stated.

The North East Youth Achievers Awards 2025 will feature diverse categories including Youth in Agribusiness, Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Governance, Climate-Smart Activities, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding, Digital Innovation, Talent and Creativity, and Youth Against Drugs, among others.
The grand awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, 13th December 2025, in Nalerigu, where development partners, corporate leaders, and young innovators will gather to celebrate youth excellence and inspire collective growth across the region.

Mr. Laari’s dynamic leadership has transformed the NYA in the North East Region into a beacon of youth empowerment and positive action. From leading the “Red Means Stop” Drug Abuse Walk, a powerful campaign that mobilized schools, traditional leaders, and youth groups to fight substance abuse, to spearheading mentorship, entrepreneurship, and leadership training programs, his dedication to the youth agenda continues to earn widespread praise.

“North East Youth Achievers Award is not just about recognition, it’s about awakening a spirit of purpose, resilience, and excellence among the youth of the North East Region,”
Mr. Laari emphasized. “When young people are celebrated, they do more, and they inspire more.”
Under his stewardship, the National Youth Authority has continued to build partnerships that promote creativity, self-reliance, and civic responsibility among the region’s youth. The overwhelming response to NEYAA demonstrates the passion and drive of young people who are eager to contribute meaningfully to the region’s development.
As nominations continue to pour in, the North East Youth Achievers Awards stands as a powerful reminder that when young people are recognized and supported, they can lead lasting transformation in their communities and beyond.
