NDC SAVANNAH REGION CONDEMNS NPP’S RECKLESS HYPOCRISY,
SHAMELESS DISTORTIONS, AND POLITICALLY BANKRUPT PROPAGANDA
The Savannah Regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has taken serious notice of the reckless, hollow, and politically mischievous statements issued by the Savannah Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, popularly known as Kalamonia, as well as the subsequent joint press conference held by the NPP Regional Secretary and the NPP Damongo Constituency Secretariat regarding the unfortunate incidents involving Yussif Abdul-Hakim and NPP activist and a well-known NDC activist popularly called “Fuzzy.”
At the outset, the NDC wishes to state its firm and uncompromising position: we condemn all
forms of violence, intimidation, destruction of property, threats, and disorderly conduct,
regardless of who the perpetrator or victim may be. No political colour, personal disagreement,
online provocation, or partisan emotion can ever justify unlawful conduct.
However, what has become painfully clear in the Savannah Region is the NPP’s shameful pattern of selective morality, calculated hypocrisy, and politically convenient outrage. While the NPP Regional Chairman and Regional Secretary rushed to issue public condemnations regarding the alleged attack on their member, that same urgency, noise, and so-called moral conviction mysteriously disappeared when reports emerged of a retaliatory attack and the irrational destruction of property allegedly carried out against Fuzzy by a desperate NPP Constituency Vice Chairman aspirant, Alhassan Fusheini, also known as Rambo.
This disgraceful silence exposes the rotten double standards of the NPP leadership in the Savannah Region. It also confirms that their public posturing is not driven by a genuine commitment to peace, justice, or the rule of law, but by a desperate attempt to weaponize isolated incidents for cheap political propaganda.
Even more disturbing is the glaring confusion, contradiction, and lack of coordination within the NPP’s own leadership. On one hand, the Regional Chairman claims to be awaiting verification of the facts through deployed emissaries. On the other hand, the Regional Secretariat hastily convenes a press conference, manufactures a narrative, assigns political blame, and desperately attempts to implicate the NDC before any credible investigation has been concluded. This contradiction is not only embarrassing; it completely destroys the already fragile credibility of the NPP’s public communication in the Savannah Region.
Let it be stated clearly and without fear: the reckless habit of politically attributing the alleged misconduct of individuals to political parties without due process is irresponsible, dangerous, and a direct threat to the democratic peace and stability of the Savannah Region.
The NPP must be warned to desist from this poisonous and inflammatory conduct. The NDC will not sit unconcerned while its members are falsely accused, politically maligned, or used as convenient targets for the NPP’s desperate propaganda machinery.
We further caution the NPP against the emerging trend of manufacturing political persecution
narratives in the Savannah Region. The people of this region are discerning, politically mature, and fully capable of distinguishing between genuine security concerns and calculated political
theatrics.
The NDC remains firmly committed to peace, law, democratic engagement, and responsible political conduct. We have no history of political violence and provocation in the region, and we have no interest in chaos or confrontation. That destructive tradition belongs to the
NPP.
However, our commitment to peace must never be mistaken for weakness. We will not accept any attempt to intimidate, harass, falsely implicate, or politically assassinate the character of our
members for the selfish convenience of others. The NDC in the Savannah Region is fully prepared to defend, protect, and preserve the lives, dignity, and lawful rights of all its members and supporters. We will take every legitimate and lawful step necessary to ensure that justice is served, order is upheld, and any act of intimidation, provocation, or political violence is decisively addressed.
It is also important to place on record that while the NPP has desperately sought to portray itself as the sole aggrieved party in this matter, the said NPP Constituency Vice Chairman aspirant, Alhassan Fusheini, also known as Rambo, and his accomplice have already been found guilty by a competent court of jurisdiction and sentenced accordingly. This development further exposes the NPP’s one-sided narrative, selective outrage, and dishonest attempt to mislead the public.
We commend the judicial process for upholding the rule of law and reiterate our confidence in the state’s institutions to dispense justice fairly, firmly, and without political bias. We also welcome the wise and timely intervention of His Royal Majesty, the Yagbonwura, who has called for calm and urged political actors to resolve their differences amicably.
The NDC in the Savannah Region holds the Yagbonwura in the highest regard and fully associates itself with his call for peace, restraint, and responsible political conduct in the interest of preserving the harmony, dignity, and stability of the Savannah Region.
That said, we call on the Ghana Police Service to carry out a thorough, impartial, and professional investigation into all incidents referenced by the parties, including the matter in which Yussif Abdul-Hakim is seen on video allegedly threatening the life of the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama. Such a grave matter must not be treated lightly, ignored selectively, or buried under partisan noise.
We state unequivocally that any individual found culpable must face the full force of the law,
regardless of political affiliation, social standing, or party loyalty. Justice must not be selective. Accountability must not be partisan. The law must apply equally to all.
To all NDC members, supporters, and sympathizers across the Savannah Region, we assure you of the unwavering commitment of the Regional Leadership to your protection, dignity,
and lawful political rights. We will not allow our members to be intimidated, unjustly
targeted, falsely accused, or subjected to politically motivated harassment.
The NDC Regional Secretariat will continue to use all lawful and constitutional mechanisms
available to safeguard the interests of our members and ensure accountability, fairness, and equal treatment under the law.
We urge all supporters to remain calm, disciplined, vigilant, and resolute. Let no one be drawn
into needless provocation. Our strength lies in our unity, restraint, discipline, and strategic engagement, not disorder.
The people of Savannah deserve responsible leadership, credible facts, equal justice, and peace. They do not deserve the NPP’s stale propaganda, reckless distortions, internal contradictions, and politically convenient storytelling.
The NDC in the Savannah Region remains focused, firm, and fearless.
