The Assemblyman for Yipala/ Nabori electoral area in the West Gonja Municipality Hon Iddrisu Abdul Rahman has climaxed the year 2022 with an end of year Gala matches within his electoral area with the theme “Uniting the youth of the area and promoting development through sports”.
The matches which started on the 15th December ended on 31st December with a final match between Nabori Fc and Shaibu Stars which saw Shaibu stars eventually emerging champions.
This was the third year in succession that these gala matches are been organized every year.
In his Christmas and New year massage to his electorates, the Assembly Man indicated these are games that usually bring the electorates together to promote peace, love and unity towards the development of the area. He disclosed his intention to expand the number of participating teams across the entire 12 electoral areas in the municipality in the near future.
Hon Rahman also promised to continue to advocate for more development for the electoral area.
The Savannah Regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress Alhaji Moro Popular known as Man Blessing, who was the Special Guest of Honour disclosed his intention to bring his brother who is currently coaching in Spain together with other coaches in 2024 to scout players within the electoral Area as well as the entire Savannah region.
Alhaji Moro made a cash donation of undisclosed amount to support the competition. He again promised to change the goal post of the Nabori park to standard post by March 2023.
In attendance together with the Regional chairman was the Savannah regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress Lawyer Salisu Biawurbi, the Regional communications director R. A Jalil, Both deputy Women organizers of the National Democratic Congress Hajia Asana and Atomi Abibata, the Representative of the Savannah regional chairman of the governing New patriotic party, Representive of the Municipal Chief Executive, Damongo constituency chairman as well other constituency executives, various assembly persons from other electoral areas within the Municipality were there to grace the occasion.
