(Kpalbi) – Savannah regional minister Saeed Muhazu Jibril has assured the chiefs and people of the North East Gonja district in the region that he will work closely with the new DCE for assembly to bring development to the area. He explained the role of the regional minister is to keep check on the municipal and district chief executives and therefore, “I will monitor, supervise and evaluate the activities of the MDCEs in the region to help the growth and development of the area”, he added.
Muhazu Jibril stated this whilst addressing the Assembly Members after the president’s nominee for the North East Gonja district, Mohammed Musah Tindawu polled 16 yes votes from all the assembly members present.
Muhazu Jibril expressed gratitude to members of the house for confirming the nominee and admonished the DCE to respect and work closely with the chiefs and assembly members to help the growth and development of the area. The 100% confirmation tells me that you are going to move this young district forward in terms of development.
We are together and we will work hand in hand with all of you. We need to revamp the subcommittees to help us speed up development, he commended the assembly for being one of the two assemblies in the Savannah region to have performed well during the recent ranking of the assemblies performance. The North East Gonja and West Gonja municipal assemblies were the only two rated high in Social Services, which is a very important component in the assembly.
The new DCE for North East Gonja district Mohammed Musah Tindawu express thanks to the president of Ghana, regional minister, NPP regional executives, Constituency executives, Assembly Members, chiefs and people of the area and assured that he will work with them to promote growth and development of the assembly.
He promised to be a good listener and that his doors will be widely opened to all and sundry.
He added that he will never be an arm chair DCE and will timely and proactively response to all relevant request within and outside his office.
Earlier, the 34 East Gonja municipal assembly Assembly Members failed to confirm the president’s nominee, Tamimu Mohammed after the election was cancelled by the Presiding Member. There was near trouble but the security halted the situation.
The Savannah region has now had four of the seven assemblies comfirmed President Akuffo-Addo’s nominees with 100%. North Gonja district, West Gonja municipal, Central Gonja district and North East Gonja district.
