(Damongo-Canteen) – Thieves have made their way into the store room of St. Theresa’sย primary at Canteen, a suburb of Damongo in the west Gonja municipality of the Savannah region.
Narrating the incident to this source on Tuesday 5th October 2021, Madam Haruna Hawawu, a cook responsible for the school feeding programme in the school indicated the act which is believed to have happened on Monday night came to her notice when she arrived at the school Tuesday morning to commence the day’s catering services for the school children at St.Theresa’s school.
She added that, an unknown key was found in their usual padlock used in locking up the store room in the school meant for the school feeding programme.
The thieves, according to her made away with almost all the food stuffsย meant to feed the school children for the week under the school feedingย programme. Such foodstuffs include; onions, Tin tomatoes, bags of rice, maize, groundnutย paste, Maggi among others.
The headmistressย of the school, Madam Felicia Sule confirmedย the incident and indicatedย that, the act has since been reported to the Assemblyman of the Canteen electoral area and the appropriate offices for the next line of action.
