The Assemblyman for the Hangaline-Ngbaripe-Alhassankura Electoral Area, Hon. Gorden Kumatey ( DJ Flenzy), has donated essential learning materials and other items to 85 graduates of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in his electoral area.
The presentation took place on Thursday, September 3, 2026, as part of efforts to support the students as they prepare to transition from the basic school level to senior high school.
Items presented to the beneficiaries included bathing buckets, mosquito nets for female students, five exercise books and two pens for each student.
Addressing the beneficiaries before the presentation, Hon. Flemzy explained that the initiative was aimed at supporting the students in their educational journey and easing some of the challenges they may encounter as they prepare for the next stage of their education.
He urged the students to take their studies seriously when they gain admission to their respective senior high schools, stressing the importance of discipline, hard work and commitment to academic success.
The Assemblyman further encouraged the students to look up to successful individuals, including leaders in their communities, as role models and work diligently towards becoming responsible citizens and future leaders.
Although he acknowledged that the support might not be enough to meet all the students needs, Hon. Flemzy expressed optimism that the items would go a long way towards assisting the beneficiaries in their preparations for senior high school.
He disclosed that the initiative has been running for about four years, adding that he intends to continue supporting BECE graduates in the electoral area in the years ahead.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, one of the beneficiaries, Seidu Toufic, expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Flemzy for the gesture.
He described the presentation as a significant day for the beneficiaries and commended the Assemblyman for his continued commitment to grooming young people to become future leaders.
“We are much grateful to you, Honorable, for the opportunity and support you have given us,” Seidu said.
He noted that the Assemblyman’s actions demonstrated his commitment to helping and motivating the youth to aspire to leadership and responsible citizenship.
He encouraged his fellow beneficiaries to appreciate the gesture not only through words but also by putting the support to good use and taking their education seriously.
The beneficiaries thanked Hon. Gorden Kumatey for the assistance and pledged to make good use of the items as they prepare to continue their education at the senior high school level.
