A Somei sonka VVIP transport Samyong bus with registration number AS- 2416-20 has caught fire and burnt beyond recognition at a community call Bonyanto while traveling from Damongo to Tamale. The said bus carried 14 passengers on board but no casualties were recorded on February 2, 2022.
It took the timely intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service and members of the bonyanto community to bring the fire under control.
The manager of the Somei Sonka VVIP transport, Mr Basit Abdul Aziz confirmed the incident to this source but could not tell the immediate cause of the burning as at the time of filing this report but said, the driver of the vehicle explained that, he had experienced some engine over heating.
The burnt bus has since been towed off the road to prevent further or future accidents on the road.
