Busunu, the capital of Busunu Traditional Area has taken custody of a new Astro Turf to help in promoting sports and social and religious development in the area. The Astro Turf will as well boost juvenile football for both males and females to unearth talents for future growth and development of the sport in the Damongo Constituency.

The chiefs and people of the area have been tasked to raise standards by maintaining the Astro Turf to help serve its purpose.

On Sunday, 15th September, 2024, the Hon Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency Samuel Abu Jinapor made the appeal when he commissioned an Astro Turf for the Busunu Traditional Area.

“I want to appeal to the chiefs and people of Busunu to take very good care of this Astro Turf. Manage it well for it to help boost sports in the area.
This is the third Astro Turf I am commissioning in the Damongo Constituency. First was Damongo Astro Turf, second was Laribanga and today I’m here to commission the third Astro Turf for Busunu, all in the Damongo Constituency of the Savannah region”.

The minister of lands and natural resources commended the chiefs and people of the area for the confidence reposed in him during the 2020 general elections and assured them he will work to fulfill the Social Contract they signed with him.

“I want to thank you very much for your love and support. I’m assuring you of my commitment to fulfilling the social contract you signed with me on 7th December, 2020 by lobbying development to this area. Once this Astro Turf is commissioned and handed over to the chiefs and people of Busunu, my next target is to complete the SHS project. Roads will be constructed across the area to enhance transportation”.

Samuel Abu Jinapor promised to provide teams in the area with football footwear (football boots) to enable them to improve soccer development.
He hinted of Football Gala competition that will bring all football players together to promote sports and unity amongst the people.
