Yobat Bagbin, popularly known as Ras Ghandi, has announced his intention to contest for the position of National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Chairman for Bunkpurugu, pending the lifting of the party’s ban on internal campaign activities.
Ras Ghandi, who currently serves as the District Manager of the National Health Insurance Authority’s Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo Scheme and Deputy Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress in Bunkpurugu, said his decision is driven by a desire to unite the party and strengthen its grassroots structures ahead of future elections.

Speaking on his ambition, he pledged to promote inclusiveness, deepen grassroots participation, and work with all stakeholders to position the party for greater electoral success.
Beyond politics, Ras Ghandi is the Chief Executive Officer of Ras Villa Grills and Pub in Bunkpurugu and is widely known for his support for youth empowerment through mentorship, entrepreneurship, and skills development initiatives. He also leads the IRAS Movement and is an active figure in the Yang Lang Movement, earning him strong support among young people and grassroots members.
His declaration has been welcomed by many party supporters, who describe him as a loyal party servant, unifier, and development-oriented leader capable of leading the constituency into a new phase of growth.

Ras Ghandi says his leadership will be guided by the principles of service, accountability, unity, and grassroots empowerment as he works to build a stronger and more united NDC in the Bunkpurugu Constituency.
