DABOYA – 22nd April, 2026
As part of efforts to adequately prepare candidates for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), the Member of Parliament for the Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Lawyer Shaibu Mahama Obei, has sponsored a special mock examination for all final-year students across the constituency.
The initiative is aimed at exposing candidates to the structure and standards of the main BECE while providing them with a clear understanding of what to expect during the national examination. The mock is also designed to cover the entire syllabus, enabling students to identify their strengths and areas that require improvement ahead of the final examination.
The mock examination commenced on Monday, April 20, 2026, and is expected to end on Friday, April 24, 2026, across designated centers within the constituency. The exercise has drawn participation from candidates from various basic schools, all eager to test their preparedness.

During a visit to one of the mock centers in Daboya, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) to the Member of Parliament, Alhaji Jabaru, observed the high level of enthusiasm and concentration among the candidates. He expressed optimism that the exercise would significantly enhance students’ confidence and readiness for the main BECE.
Hon. Alhaji Lawyer Shaibu Mahama Obei noted that the intervention forms part of broader measures put in place to improve academic performance in the constituency, particularly following last year’s unsatisfactory results. He expressed hope that the mock examination, together with other educational support initiatives, will lead to a marked improvement in this year’s outcomes.

The Member of Parliament also extended his best wishes to all candidates, encouraging them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to their studies as they prepare for the final examination.
Signed,
