West Gonja municipality:security services to disband unrecognized groups in Damongo.

The West Gonja Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Karim Musah Kusubari has disclose that the security from next year will disband unrecognize groups within the municipality.
This was made known during his sessional address of the Second Ordinary Meeting of the West Gonja Municipal Assembly on Wednesday, 15th December, 2021.

According to him this action is aimed at minimizing and eradicating criminal activities such as theft within the Municipality.

Musah Kusubari

Hon Musah Kusubari said within the year under review 2021 the assembly together with office of the Member of Parliament of Damongo constituency has put in place measures to improve quality education of the basic schools which involve organizing of extra classes for the BECE candidates as well as the provision of 3-Unit classroom block for Mempeasem.

On water and sanitation he explained that a total of 13 boreholes were provided by the Member of Parliament of the constituency to communities such as Canteen, Attributo, Mempeasem , Langbonto, Busunu, Langantere, Broto, Yipala and Nabori.

In addition, a total amount of One million six Hundred Thousand ( 1,600,000) was disbursed to 5,006 beneficiaries of Leap during the year as well as 8.2 metric tons of fertilizer , 16.45 metric tonnes of Certified Improved Seeds under Planting for Food and jobs as well as 3,100 birds under Rearing for Food and Jobs and Savannah Investment Programme ( SIP).

He added that the Executive Committee of the Assembly has recommended at their Executive meeting the establishment of Larger Cattle market for dealers, security service to curb up- rising of Youth Camps known as “Gettoes” and the construction of a CHPS compound at Yagbonkura next year.

The annual composite budget for 2022 was Adopted and Approved by the General Assembly as well as the medium Term Action Plan of the Assembly.

In attendance were the Hon Presiding Member, Assembly members , various Heads of Department and Heads of Security Agencies. The Regional Minister as well took time off his busy schedule to attend.
