On Tuesday, 28th January, 2025, Tingawura Alhaji Sampson Seidu officially filed his nomination documents to contest as the Savannah Region’s representative on Ghana’s Council of State.
The Deputy Savannah Regional Electoral Commission (EC) Officer, Mr. David Acheampong, received and accepted his nomination documents.

Tingawura, a seasoned public servant with 39 years of experience and a seven-year retirement in an engagement with the media after filing his forms, outlined his motivation and qualifications for the role. He emphasized his extensive background in public service and his readiness to leverage his wealth of experience to advise the President effectively.
“I have served in various capacities, including as a professional accountant, district chief executive, regional director of the National Health Insurance Authority, and now as a traditional ruler. My experience spans decades, and I believe I am well-positioned to advocate for development in the Savannah Region,” Tingawura stated.

Vision for the Savannah Region.
Tingawura Alhaji Sampson Seidu highlighted his deep connection to the Savannah Region and his commitment to its development. He pointed out his ability to engage with key stakeholders, including the President, to push the region’s agenda.
“I am confident that my experience in financial management, local governance, and traditional leadership positions me uniquely to address the developmental needs of the Savannah Region. As someone who has been deeply involved in the region’s progress for decades, I can advocate effectively for our collective growth,” he said.

Extensive Career in Public Service
Tingawura began his career in 1979 as an Accountant at the District Education Office in Bole. Over the years, he served in similar capacities at several institutions, including Bole Secondary School, Ghana Secondary School in Tamale, and the Tolon-Kumbungu District Education Office, among others. He was also Chairman of the Educational Accountants Association.
From 2009 to 2013, he was appointed District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bole and later served as the Regional Director of the National Health Insurance Authority for the Eastern Region from 2013 to 2017.
Political and Traditional Leadership.
Tingawura has been an active member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) since its founding in 1992. He has held various positions, including being a founding member in the Bole-Bamboi Constituency, a two-term Assembly Member, and Chairman of the Finance and Administration Sub-committee of the Assembly. He also served as Chairman of the Savannah Regional Council of Elders of the NDC.
In 2013, he was enskinned as Tingawura in the Bole Traditional Area, becoming a member of the Bole Traditional Council and the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs. He currently chairs the review committee for the 1930 Gonja Constitution and has played an integral role in championing traditional and developmental initiatives.
Fluent in several local languages, including Gonja, Wali, Safalba, Dagbani, and Twi, Tingawura is well-positioned to bridge cultural and political gaps, fostering unity and progress within the Savannah Region.
Tingawura’s nomination reflects his dedication to public service, his region, and his people. As he prepares to contest for the Council of State seat, he remains focused on leveraging his broad expertise to bring meaningful development to the Savannah Region.
