A Presidential aspirant of the New patriotic party, Mr. Alan John Kojo Kyerematen called on members of the NPP and Ghanaian in general to support him as he is the best Man to lead the Transformation of the country after 60 years of independence.
He made this statement in an encounter with the media on Wednesday, 22nd March, 2023 in the savannah regional capital, Damongo when he visited the region as part of his campaign tour across the country.
Mr. Kyerematen explained that Ghana was the first country in the sub – Saharan Africa to become independent in 1957 and that, at the time Ghana gained it’s independence, there were countries at the same level of economic development with Ghana in other regions particularly in Asia, Korea, South Korea, Malaysia among others but looking at the performance of the economies of some of those countries that are described as the Asian tigers comparing to that of Ghana after 60 years, it must be clear to all in the country to note that Ghana have come a long way in it’s performance but has not been able to optimize the opportunities given to it as a country.
He noted that since independence, this is the 17th time that the country is going to the International monetary fund (IMF) to seek for support which indicates that there must be something missing in the National development orientation and said things are very clear to him as a student of economic development that, the country has not been able to move beyond growth and stability to transformation that can lead to the fundamental change in the structure of the economy of the country.
He indicated that it is only when a country goes from growth and stability to transformation that can help bring prosperity to that nation and for it to be able to withstand external shocks and dynamics in the ecosystem that surrounds the country.
Alan Cash also indicated that, if the country is looking for a new leader particularly at a time that the country is going to the IMF, then Ghana must be looking for a leader who will be a transformational leader which is Alan Kyerematen who has already put forward a great transformational plan to speak to why he wants to be President of Ghana.
According to him, he has put together his Ten points transformational agenda for the country with seven enablers that includes things that needs to ensure that the Transformation occur.
