The Savannah Regional House of Chiefs has on this morning rescinded its earlier decision that of the extension of the window for loggers to salvage their already cut logs from the Savannah and that 1000.00 Ghana cedis would be paid to the chief of the various traditional areas where the logs would be picked from and 5000.00 Ghana cedis to the Regional House of chiefs charcoal and logging committee.
According to them” upon further consultation with the King of Gonja and President
of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs His Royal Majesty Yagbonwura Tuntumba Bore Essa
I and the Eminent Chiefs committee chairman Buipewura Jinapor II, as well as key stakeholders,
the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs have resolved that the decision on the carting window
on the uncollected logs in the Savannah Region has been rescinded hence the 30th deadline is still enforced.
