The member of parliament for the Damongo constituency and minister for Lands and Natural Resources, hon. Lawyer samuel Abu Jinapor has supported market women with an amount of Ghc 20,000 in the West Gonja municipality to aid their trading activities. His support came about when he honoured an invitation extended to him by the market women on the occasion of a get-together party organised by the women for the purpose of strengthening the unity that exist amongst them over the years.

The women in their welcome address read by Bakari Fuseina, the Assistant Market Queen, thanked the member of parliament for honouring their invitation to wine and dine with them and also for his continuous support to the market women in the constituency. She added that, lawyer Abu jinapor is exceptional and that they have not come across his match in the constituency. She continued that, the have been supported heavily by the Member of parliament financially enabling them to grow in their various businesses. Madam Fuseina on behalf of her colleagues, appealed to the MP to connect electricity to the market premises to brighten the market at night to prevent thiefs from operating.

Abu Jinapor expressed gratitude to the market women for the invitation and reminded them that he was not going relent on his campaign promises made to women in the constituency and that funds are ready for disbursement to women in the constituency to help them in their various business set ups. The law maker added that, a committee has been formed in that regard to ensure the smooth roll out of his women empowerment program which will commence in August this year. He entreated the women to ensure transparency in the disbursement processes where the committee will not encounter situations where one person receives the MP’s women empowerment support twice with their names appearing in two or more groups.

The MP again thanked the market women for the love and continuous support shown him over the years and promised that the market will be connected to electricity as soon as possible.

He was in attendance with the Constituency Chairman of the NPP ( Alhaji Braimah Adam), Constituency Secretary of the NPP ( Mr. Musah karim kusubari ), women Organizer ( Madam Azara) together with some Constituency executives.
