Jaksally and CCOD inaugurate a mobilization centre university college at Yerikoi.

Jaksally in collaborat with the College for Community and Organisational Development ( CCOD) has on Wednesday 7th April, 2021, inaugurated a Mobilization centre University College in Yerikoi a suburb in the Sawla Tuna Kalba District of the Savannah.

The Career development institution is aimed at giving clear opportunities to people in and outside the Savannah region to enrich themselves in academic courses such as, Diploma in Community and Organisational Development, Postgraduate Diploma in Private Sector Development and Advocacy, Bsc in Organisational Development, Msc in Organisational Development and other professional programs like executive Mastering in Organisational Development and Appreciative Leadership and Organisational Development Certificate Consultant.

The CEO of Jaksally, Mr Jeremiah Seidu in an exclusive interview with Pad fm reporter Mr Sumaila Hafiz said, areas such as financial literacy and education as well as inclusion and investment education and savings, which are very important in the socio-economic development of every individual and state have always been a key component in Jaksally VSLA activities, since it is directed in developing their beneficiaries in financial management and other developmental activities.

He said, the people in the community are peace lovers and therefore pledge their commitment to the sustainability of the university college. He again called on all and sundry to take advantage of the institution to further their education.

The Chief of the Yirekoi Community Yerikoiwura Seidu Saaka was full of praises for the initiative and to Mr Seidu Jeremiah for his constant support for the Yirekoi community in bringing education to the door step of the people of Yerikoi.

The President of CCOD, Mr Gabriel Benakuu who spoke to the media present said, Jaksally has come to the realisation that the Yerikoi community is endowed with natural resources , art and culture but yet deprived of social developmental facilities such as electricity, good roads, quality education and among others, hence the need for the establishment of the College for Community and Organisational Development (CCOD) Compus in Yirekoi.

Mr Gabriel also pledge a 30 percent scholarship package to all students who are pursuing the postgraduate and degree programs and 15 percent to all those doing the professional courses in the institution.

Hon Saed Muhazu Jebril Jegede the Savannah Regional Minister who graced the occasion stated that he has worked with Jaksally as an MCE for West Gonja municipal Assembly and can confidently say that Jaksally has changed lives and empowered women in his Municipality and he is therefore committed in working with Jaksally as a Regional Minister.

” The NPP government is committed to the development of it’s people and as a representative of the government in the Savannah Regional i will not relent on the effort of bringing development to my people.

The Regional Minister also seized the opportunity to call on the Kongwure Jinkurige I who was the guest of honour and all the chiefs in the Savannah Regional to join hands in stopping the logging and the charcoal burning menace in the Savannah Regional.
