Hon. Kumatey Gorden, also known as DJ Flenzy, the Assemblyman for Hangaline-Ngbaripe-Alhassankura, continues his commitment to education by donating essential school items to 2024 BECE graduates from his electoral area who gained admission to Senior High Schools.
In a presentation at his residence on Monday, November 11, 2024, Hon. Kumatey provided 250 exercise books, 120 pens, 60 mosquito nets and 60 plastic buckets, all funded by him, to assist the academic journey of the first-year SHS students.
Speaking to the students and their parents, Hon. Kumatey reaffirmed his dedication to supporting education in his electoral area. He noted that this donation fulfills his promise to make this an annual initiative to support first-year students. He emphasized that, while modest, the gesture is his way of investing in their education.
He urged the students to use the items responsibly and assured them of his continued support. Hon. Kumatey also shared his vision for initiating impactful projects, particularly in education, in the coming years.
His wife, Madam Rafia Seidu, expressed her support for her husband’s dedication to the community’s development and pledged her continued assistance for the progress of the area.
In January of this year, Hon. Kumatey launched this initiative by supporting 115 first-year SHS students with similar items. This donation marks his ongoing effort to uplift the educational prospects of students in his electoral area.
