Officers from the Ghana Prisons service led by it’s National Director of operations, DOP Owusu Amponsah and the Northern Regional commander of prisons, DDP Thompson Otsyokpo, five senior commission officers and 20 other ranks from the Service has paid a courtesy call on Chiefs of Gonjaland at the Jakpa palace to mourn with them over the death of Late Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa ( I ).
The delegation was led to the Jakpa Palace by the West Gonja Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Musah Karim Kusubari with a donation of a ram, calabash full of cola and an undisclosed amount of cash in the morning of Sunday, 26th February, 2023.
DOP Owusu on behalf of the delegation sympathized with the Chiefs and people of the Gonja Kingdom for the lost and described their relationship with the late Yagbonwura as very cordial which led to the release of land for the construction of the Damongo Local Prisons which he assured will soon be put use.
He also assured that the bond and relationship that existed between them will be maintained and strengthened for the benefit of all.
Receiving the support from the Ghana prisons service delegation on behalf of the acting Head of state and regent, Sonyowura Kanyiti ( I ), the funeral planning committee chairman, Mankpanwura, Jakpa Borenyi Achor – Ade ( I ) thanked the team for the gesture and for their visit to mourn with them and urged the officers to maintain the relationship that existed between them in the days of the late Yagbonwura even as he left them.
