The Ghana Education Service (GES) has strongly denounced the incident involving an alleged assault on a student by the Assistant Headmaster (Academics) of Nkwatia Presby Senior High School.

In a press statement released by GES’s Public Relations Officer, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, the organization expressed its firm stance against the incident, which was captured in a viral video on social media. The footage depicted the Assistant Headmaster physically abusing a second-year student.

To address this grave matter, the GES has taken immediate action by relieving the Assistant Headmaster of his duties. Additionally, they have ensured that the assaulted student is receiving both medical care and counseling.

The Eastern Regional Director of Education is also actively collaborating with the school authorities and law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation.

The Ghana Education Service has emphasized its unwavering commitment to providing a secure and nurturing learning environment for all students, assuring the public that such incidents will not be tolerated.
