Many call him Robert. Some affectionately refer to him as “Prof” not because he holds a PhD, but because of his wisdom, meticulous approach to issues, and unwavering commitment to uplifting others. His name has become synonymous with youth empowerment, leadership, and humanitarian service in Northern Ghana and beyond.
Recently, the entire North East Region erupted in celebration when Robert Kampi was appointed as the Regional National Youth Authority Boss. The appointment did not come as a surprise to those who have followed his journey, a journey rooted in service, resilience, and an unshakable belief that he was “born to lead.”
Robert’s leadership journey began at the University for Development Studies (UDS-now UBIDS), where he contested for the SRC Presidency. Though he narrowly missed the position, that setback only fueled his determination to make a difference.
Understanding the power of mentorship, he founded the Dream Big Foundation in Tamale a platform where he inspires young people to dream boldly, work hard, and never give up. Through this initiative, he has touched countless lives, offering guidance, resources, and hope to youth who once saw no future.
Robert’s impact extends beyond formal structures. His open-door policy, willingness to listen, and selflessness have endeared him to many. Stories abound of him giving his last coin to help someone in need, staying up late to counsel a troubled youth, or traveling long distances to mediate community conflicts.
During a campaign trip, a colleague once asked how he managed the overwhelming calls and requests for help. His response? “If I don’t help, who will?” This simple yet profound philosophy defines his life.

Now, as the North East Regional National Youth Authority Boss, Robert faces a new challenge: balancing the immense expectations with the realities of leadership. Many wonder: How will he handle the pressure?
But those who know him are not worried. As the saying goes, “The God who provides yam for the child in the bush shall provide a hoe for digging.” Robert’s strength lies in his integrity, wisdom, and genuine love for people.
As he steps into this new role, he must remain vigilant. Leadership attracts both genuine supporters and those with hidden motives. But Robert is no stranger to adversity. His humility, transparency, and unwavering focus on service will guide him through.
The people of the North East Region are proud to have him. They know that in Robert Kampi, they have a leader who will serve, not be served, a leader who will put their needs above personal gain.
Robert Kampi’s story is still being written, but one thing is certain: his impact will outlive him. From campus activism to regional leadership, his life is a testament to what happens when passion meets purpose.
To “Prof,” we say: The youth believe in you. Ghana is watching. And history will remember your name. “True leadership is not about titles, it’s about touching lives. And Robert Kampi has already won where it matters most in the hearts of the people.”
