A 22 year old man has been apprehended by the Upper West regional police CID on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl in Wa.
The incident transpired on Saturday, 16th September, 2023 in the afternoon within the Banmaarayiri community at an unfinished structure.
The child’s mother had initially sent her daughter to attend Arabic classes that morning but when the girl failed to return as scheduled, the mother grew worried and embarked on a search.
She discovered her daughter at the incomplete building, where she encountered the 22 year old male, partially dressed in a compromising situation with the young girl.
The girl has since been rushed the Wa municipal hospital for medical examinations while the police has launched investigations into the incident.
