The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Dr. Yusif Sulemana, has secured funding for the completion of a 14-year-old abandoned staff quarters project at the Bole District Hospital, in a move expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery in the district.
The staff accommodation project, which consists of more than 20 residential units, was initiated in 2012 under the leadership of the then Medical Superintendent, Dr. Joe, using the hospital’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF).
However, construction came to a halt midway due to financial constraints, leaving the facility abandoned for over a decade.

The issue resurfaced in May 2026 when the management of the Bole District Hospital met with Dr. Sulemana and appealed for his intervention. Hospital authorities highlighted the severe shortage of accommodation for health professionals, explaining that the challenge was affecting staff welfare, recruitment, and retention.
Responding to the appeal, Dr. Sulemana pledged to facilitate the completion of the project. He has since secured the required funding and engaged a contractor, who has already begun work on-site to complete the long-delayed facility.
When completed, the staff quarters are expected to provide decent accommodation for healthcare workers, improve staff retention, and enhance the quality of healthcare services delivered at the Bole District Hospital, demonstrating the MP’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the constituency.
