Yagbonwura Bii-kunuto Jewu Soale I, the King of Gonjaland, has bestowed upon the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Candidate and Vice President of the Republic of Ghana the title of “Konokowlewura,” translating to the “Chief of Unity” in the Gonja Kingdom.
Recognizing the candidate’s history of fostering unity, the King honored him with this chieftaincy title during a ceremonial enskinment on Tuesday, 20th November, 2023.
Expressing gratitude for the bestowed honor, the Vice President pledged ongoing service to the Gonja Kingdom and also offered to undertake the renovation of the Jakpa Palace which is currently unoccupied due to its deteriorated condition.
Dr. Bawumia affirmed his loyalty and dedication to the King, emphasizing their longstanding relationship.
The Yagbonwura, in turn, blessed the NPP Candidate and conveyed prayers for his presidential aspirations.
The Vice President’s regional tour, expressing gratitude to Chiefs for their support during the NPP primaries, has included visits to Nalerigu, Tamale, Yendi, Bimbilla, Saboba, and Damongo.
Sources suggest that this tour will extend to other parts of the country to convey appreciation to all.
