The Member of parliament for Damongo and Minister for lands and Natural resources, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor has commented the Catholic Church for it’s role in the development of the country.

Mr. Abu Jinapor made the commendation at the opening ceremony of the 45th National Catholic laity council plenary Assembly on Friday, 12th April, 2024 at Damongo in the Savannah Region.

Samuel Abu Jinapor

The Damongo Mp in his facilitation message, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to address attendees, highlighting the significant impact of the Catholic Church on both spiritual and developmental aspects of society.

Lawyer Abu Jinapor emphasized the church’s provision of spiritual guidance and prayers for various entities, including the region, constituency and municipality. However, Mr. Jinapor went further to commend the Catholic Church as a vital agent of development and emphasized the importance of addressing concerns raised by the church.

Reflecting on his personal experiences and education within the Catholic Church, Mr. Jinapor praised its historical and contemporary contributions to healthcare, education and social development globally.

He also emphasized the importance of maintaining routines in education, drawing parallels to the disciplined environment he experienced during his schooling at St. Anne’s and St. Charles schools.

Addressing concerns about the educational system in Ghana, the Damongo MP underscored the need for structured routines similar to those implemented in Catholic institutions, which foster discipline and skill development among students.

He pledged his support to the Catholic Church’s efforts in continuing to serve as a catalyst for development, particularly within his constituency. His remarks underscored the enduring partnership between political leadership and religious institutions in driving societal progress and welfare.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for West Gonja who was also at the event, commended the organizers and urged for the promotion of peace and collaboration among religious groups, emphasizing the unity of the nation despite diverse religious backgrounds.

Musah Karimu Kusubari

Acknowledging the significant contributions of the Catholic Church in healthcare, education, and other developmental projects, the MCE pledged his support to the church’s initiatives, recognizing them as integral to the Municipal’s development.
