Hajia Ubeda Nurudeen, the Deputy Savannah Regional Women’s Organizer, has spoken out against recent demonstrations aimed at rejecting Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as Vice President candidate for the NPP.
According to Hajia Ubaida, the protests are fueled by a media house and members of the so-called “butterfly family,” who are posing as supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The protesters have cited Hon. Prempeh’s response to the recent power outages, commonly known as “Dumsor,” as their main reason for opposition.
Hajia Ubaida dismissed these criticisms, stating that they are merely an excuse and emphasized that as humans, no one is perfect and argued that Hon. Prempeh’s interview with the same media house should not be taken seriously.
“The truth is, they fear his strong leadership and royal background from Kumasi, a stronghold of NPP,” Hajia Ubaida said.
She reaffirmed the unity within the party, stating, “We, the elephant family, stand united behind our Flag bearers decision and will support Hon. NAPO to deliver victory in the Southern belt.”
Hajia Ubaida, also expressed respect for Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahammud Bawumia’s choice in selecting Hon. Prempeh as his running mate, believing that this leadership duo will help the NPP break the ‘8-year cycle’ in Ghanaian politics.
Addressing Hon. Prempeh directly, she said, “Relax. Even prophets faced rejection, but God guided and protected them. You are a born leader, a king, and a winner.” Nurudeen assured him of the unwavering support from the women and grassroots members of the party.
She concluded with a call for unity, urging all NPP supporters to rally behind Dr. Alhaji Mahammud Bawumia and Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to secure another victory for the party.
“Together, it’s Possible!” she declared, reinforcing the party’s commitment to overcoming challenges and achieving success.
