Mr. Yaw Frimpong, the Director in charge of Finance of Helios Tower disclosed that his outfit connecting children to Information Communication Technology (ICT) to bring pragmatic solutions to society through technology. Children all over the world need to get the real opportunity to learn ICT to help them understand the system and try to get pragmatic solutions to everyday issues affecting our lives.
Yaw Frimpong disclosed this during the inauguration of an Information Communication Technology center for the Apelso Electoral Area at Kabampe in the West Gonja municipal assembly, Savannah region.
According to him, the objective of Helios Tower is to connect over 5000 children to information communication technology as part of their cooperate social responsibility project called “ICT Laboratory project”. He added the facility in Kabampe is the second ICT center that Helios Tower built across the entire country and therefore urging the community as well Ghana education service to utilize and maintain the facility for the betterment of the generations unborn.
On his part, the Assembly Man for Apelso Electoral Area who doubled as the Presiding Member of the West Gonja Municipality Hon Mohammed Mumuni expressed gratitude to Helios Tower for such a wonderful edifice and pledged to support the community to maintain the facility for the benefit of the people of the area.
The project which sod was cut in September 2023 is funded by Helios Towers was handed over to the Ghana education service, the West Gonja Municipal Assembly and the beneficiary communities.
In attendance were the chiefs and elders of beneficiary communities, Assemblyman of the Apelso Electoral Area, Unit Committee members, women groups, representative of the Municipal Chief Executive, Deputy Director Mr. Ibrahim Napari, the clergy, Officials of Helios Tower, teachers and students as well as the contractor for the project.
