Hangaline-Ngbaripe-Alhassankura electoral area Assemblyman elect, Kumatey Gorden, popularly known as DJ Flenzy has demonstrated his commitment to education by donating essential school items to 2023 BECE graduates who secured admission to Senior High Schools (SHS).
At his residence On Tuesday, 2nd January, 2024, Hon. Gorden Kumatey handed over 350 exercise books, 150 pens, and 115 plastic buckets fully funded by him to support the academic journey of the SHS One (Fresh) students within his electoral area.
Addressing the beneficiary students and their parents before the presentation of the items, the assemblyman-elect emphasized his dedication to supporting farmers, women and children’s education in the electoral area.
He also pledged an annual commitment to supporting first-year students in his own little way, highlighting his determination to contribute to education in his electoral area.
He encouraged the responsible use of the donated items and assured continued assistance to the students.
Despite not yet officially assuming office, Mr. Kumatey expressed his eagerness to initiate impactful projects, particularly in education, even before the official swearing-in.
While facing a previous defeat in the elections, former contender Yakubu Ali, who attended the ceremony, echoed Hon. Kumatey’s commitment to the area’s development and pledged his readiness to collaborate with him for the overall progress of the electoral area, emphasizing the collective importance beyond individual victories or losses.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the students, Abubakari Fatima, a mother to one of the beneficiaries conveyed appreciation for the historic support provided by the assemblyman-elect and assured the responsible use of the items and acknowledged the gesture as the first of its kind in the electoral area.
As the 12 assemblymen-elect in the West Gonja Municipality await their official inauguration, Hon. Kumatey’s proactive approach to community service sets a promising tone for the developmental initiatives in Hangaline-Ngbaripe-Alhassankura.
