The NDC Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency parliamentary candidate, Lawyer Alhaji Mahama Shaibu Obei has promised to provide for the needs of all students of the 2023 BECE graduates who will score aggregate 6 to 14 when their results are released.
Lawyer Obei provided daily snacks to all 440 candidates,19 invigilators, teachers accompanying the students, and the security and GES staff throughout the examination period of the BECE in the North Gonja district of the Savannah region.
In a statement signed by the NDC Communication Officer for Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency Sidik Jabaru John, the NDC parliamentary candidate whilst congratulating all those who participated in the just-ended 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination in the Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency, also admonished them to be good children to parents and society.
Lawyer Alhaji Mahama Shaibu Obei said
‘ It’s as a result of hard work and dedication that you all have come this far, completing the first major task of your life on the educational ladder.
Hon. Alhaji Obei however, admonishes the students who will now retire at home whilst awaiting their results to be good and responsible children, helping their parents at home and avoiding trouble’.
Alhaji Lawyer Obei provided Cash to support all candidates who have traveled outside Daboya for the examination to transport themselves back to their various destinations.
Lawyer Alhaji Mahama Shaibu Obei has also promised a partial scholarship package for any candidate who gets aggregates 6 to 14, which will include; the supply of a full complement of textbooks for the course offered, a scientific calculator, cash for the purchases of the prospectus, wristwatch, school bag and a monthly stipend of Ghc200 when in school until completion.

So far Lawyer Alhaji Mahama Shaibu Obei is the only politician to have have provided full scholarships to students at various tertiary institutions in the Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency.
The statement added ‘ Hon. Alhaji Obei has always shown interest in helping students, as the first badge of the eight (8) students he awarded a full scholarship(school fees, hostel fees, and stipends) and 15 students partial scholarship (school fees and stipends ) have graduated this year from various universities with second class upper honors. He also spends thousands of Ghana cedis supporting students in the constituency in various ways. He believes that the only way we can fight poverty is through education’.
Lawyer Alhaji Mahama Shaibu Obei advised the students against indulging in the use of hard substances that are likely to destroy their futures and urged them to do away with friends who are likely to introduce them to such substances.
‘ We are in an era where drug abuse and promiscuity are rampant, the young people are hereby advised to live responsible lives and not do anything that will jeopardize their future as they await to go to senior high schools and other post-JHS institutions’.

We are in an era where drug abuse and promiscuity are rampant, the Young people are hereby advised to live responsible lives and not do anything that will jeopardize their future as they await to go to senior high schools and other post-JHS institutions.

To the school caterers kudos to you for adhering to the Gender and Children Ministry’s directive and providing hot lunch for the students throughout the examination, however, teachers who accompanied the students for the exams were ignored, We hope that, next time, the teachers should be considered.
