About 6,329 final year junior high school (JHS) students in the savannah region are beginning their Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) across the savannah region from Monday, August 7th to Friday, 11th August, 2023.
The examination which is to qualify the candidates for placement into Senior high schools (SHSs) will be written at twenty five (25) set up centres across the Seven (7) Districts of the region under the supervision of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
Among the registered candidates for the examination, there are 3,282 girls and 3,047 boys.
The Bole District registered 1,282, Central Gonja 1,075, East Gonja 1,167, North East Gonja 388, North Gonja 480, Sawla-Tuna-Kalba 1,114 and West Gonja 823 candidates respectively.
According to reports available to this source, all necessary measures are in place to ensure a fair and transparent examination process without malpractices.
