Savannah Regional Minister Takes Delivery of GNPC Constructed School Blocks

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) commissioned and handed over a Six (6) Unit classroom blocks to the Damongo Presbyterian Primary School and the Laribanga D/A Primary School in the West Gonja Municipality of the Savannah region on Wednesday 25th August, 2021.

The two blocks were financed by the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation is the state agency responsible for the exploration, licensing, and distribution of petroleum-related activities in Ghana.

The classroom blocks came with about 200 pieces of furniture to assist improve teaching and learning in both schools.

GNPC officials who were present to do the handing over were;
Dominic Kwesi Eduah, Executive Director, GNPC Foundation and Madam Lubaabat Habib-Jawulaa, Head, Environment and Social Amenities, GNPC Foundation.

The Executive Director of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation, Dr Dominic Kwesi Eduah, explained that the project is part of the GNPC’s initiative that seeks to impact lives and empower next generation in and around the area
Kwesi Eduah appealed to authorities of both schools to exercise good maintenance culture so that this and future generations will be benefit from the structures.

Hon. Saeed Muhazu Jibril, Savannah regional minister and Municipal Chief Executive for West Gonja municipality, expressed gratitude to the GNPC for executing the projects for the municipality.
Saeed Muhazu said construction of the classroom blocks forms part of the numerous developmental projects the region has benefited from the GNPC such as sanitary facilities and others that were fully funded by GNPC.

Saaed Muhazu appealed for more support from GNPC especially in the field of education to help the development of the Municipality.

Ghana Education Service regional director, Mumuni Mbonwura Francis, the West Gonja municipal Education Service director, Akey Ferguson, Planning Officer, Richard K Dery, Seidu Amankwa, the Human Resource, among others, were present to take delivery of the two blocks at Damongo and Laribanga respectively.

School authorities in both schools thanked GNPC for the support and assured the facilities will be put into good use with maximum care.
