Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, popularly known as Professor Kalamonia, has officially declared his intention to seek re-election as the Savannah Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). In a press release issued on July 14, 2026, Professor Kalamonia appealed to delegates and party faithful to renew his mandate, stating that the journey they began together must be completed. He highlighted what he described as his record of dedicated leadership, accessibility, grassroots engagement, and support for party members, while unveiling his campaign theme, “One NPP, Total Victory in 2028,” built on four key pillars: Unity, Efficient Service, Empowerment, and Victory.
Professor Kalamonia pledged to strengthen unity within the party by promoting an inclusive leadership style that accommodates all members and constituencies. He also promised to continue empowering party executives, communicators, women, youth, and the Nasara wing through capacity-building, logistical support, and welfare interventions. Looking ahead to the 2028 general elections, he expressed confidence that the NPP would retain the Damongo parliamentary seat, reclaim constituencies lost in the last election, and secure an overwhelming presidential victory for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia through a united, data-driven, and well-resourced campaign. He urged delegates to support his bid, emphasizing that continuity, experience, and loyalty are essential to the party’s success in the Savannah Region.

DECLARATION OF INTENT BY ALHAJI IDDRISU SULEMANA (PROFESSOR KALAMONIA) SAVANNAH REGIONAL NPP CHAIRMANSHIP
Dear Delegates and Patriots of the Savannah Region, I am seeking your mandate once again to retain me as your Regional Chairman. We started a journey together and need to complete it together. I promised you dedicated and unwavering leadership and delivered on that. I promised you a listening ear and delivered on that.
I promised to be with you in sorrow and despair and delivered on that. I promised you jobs and delivered on that. This time around, I am coming to you with an agenda of One NPP, Total Victory in 2028, which is anchored on four (4) Pillars: Unity of purpose, Efficient Service, Empowerment and Victory.
UNITY
Unity is the glue that keeps a purposeful group together, ensuring that it focuses on its target in the face of daunting challenges. A house divided against itself they say cannot stand! Therefore, the unity of our party will be my core focus under my renewed leadership. It is only when we hold ourselves together that we can pursue the agenda of winning more souls for our party. As you know, I have always opened my doors to the old, young, women, youth, and all interest groups. I will continue to run an all-inclusive Regional Executive body that listens to every cconstituency and every patriot across the region.
SERVICE
Leadership is service and not status! I am not a chairman just by name but of the grassroots! I have been in your communities, at your social events, in your polling stations, and on the campaign trail with you. I pledge a 24/7 accessibility chairmanship to you as always! That is, a functional regional party that responds to you, as your issues are mine!
EMPOWERMENT
My next administration will continue to empower the base of the party to ensure we are well energized for victory in 2028. We will invest in our Polling Station Executives, Electoral Area Executives, Constituency Executives, Party Communicators, the Women, Youth and Nasara wings which are the engine of our party. We will embark on capacity building, logistical support and welfare interventions for our executives, party communicators and all other party stakeholders to ensure we carry everybody along the trail. This is necessary because your empowerment is the party’s empowerment!
VICTORY 2028
Dear Delegates and Patriots, I want to assure you total victory in 2028! It is the case that we lost two of the three Seats that we won in 2020 in the last general elections. The “the Downfall of a Man is not the End of his Life”! I want to assure you that under my leadership, the wins will be bigger in 2028! We are not just going to win more Parliamentary seats in our region, but an overwhelming Presidential votes for the NPP and Alhaji Dr. MAHAMADU BAWUMIA.
That is my pledge!
We will deploy a data-driven campaign, effective and efficient resource mobilization, and keep a united front to ensure that we retain the Damongo seat, win back the lost seats and annex fresh ones. With dedicated and unwavering leadership, unity of purpose, effective and efficient service delivery and empowerment, I assure you victory in 2028 under my leadership!
