Damongo, 17th May, 2026
The Daboya/Mankarigu and Damongo constituencies in the Savannah region of Ghana have emerged as the only constituencies to surpass the expected minimum number of aspirants in the ongoing National Democratic Congress (NDC) branch executive filing process in the Region as of 16th May, 2026.
Data from the party’s constituency records show that Daboya/Mankarigu recorded 886 submissions against an expected minimum of 792, representing an impressive 111.9 percent achievement rate. Damongo also exceeded its target with 841 submissions compared to the expected minimum of 819, translating into 102.7 percent.
The figures indicate growing enthusiasm and strong grassroots participation within the two constituencies ahead of the party’s internal branch executive elections.

In contrast, several other constituencies fell below their expected targets. Bole-Bamboi came close with 1,088 submissions out of the expected 1,089, achieving 99.9 percent. Yapei-Kusawgu recorded 1,519 submissions against an expected 1,629, representing 93.2 percent.
Salaga North achieved 86.1 percent with 434 submissions out of the expected 504, while Salaga South recorded 917 submissions against 1,143 expected, representing 80.2 percent.
Sawla-Tuna-Kalba posted the lowest performance, recording 781 submissions compared to the expected 1,080, representing 72.3 percent.
Party officials say the high numbers in Daboya/Mankarigu and Damongo reflect increasing confidence among grassroots members and a renewed commitment to strengthening the party’s structures at the branch level.

Observers believe the strong participation could boost party organization and mobilization efforts in the constituencies as the NDC prepares for future political activities and elections.
