Hon. Salisu Bi-Awuribi, the Regional Minister Nominee for the Savannah Region, was officially introduced to Jira Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu (I), King and Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, at the Jakpa Palace on January 17, 2025.

In the company of some Savannah Regional NDC executives, Damongo constituency executives and some party members, he sought guidance and blessings ahead of his parliamentary appointments committee vetting on January 27.

Addressing the media, Hon. Salisu Bi-Awuribi pledged to prioritize the region’s development, vowing to work with President Mahama to fulfill the aspirations of the people in the Savannah Region.

With his extensive background as a lawyer, development expert, and valuation professional, he expressed readiness to lead transformational change in the region.

The king and overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale (I) on his part, congratulated Hon. Salisu Bi-Awurbi on his nomination as Savannah Regional Minister designate invoked the blessings of the skins of Gonja and that of Ndewura Jakpa to guide him ahead of his vetting.
