Mr. Emmanuel Safo Sadari, Deputy Savannah Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress ( NDC ) has said that 2022 has been a year of deceit and abandoned projects in the Savannah region under the political legacy of Ghana’s vice president, Dr. Mahamud Bawumia.

He said this in a statement copied to Damongo based Padfm 95.1mhz.

2022 – YEAR OF DECEIT AND ABANDONED PROJECTS: THE POLITICAL LEGAGY OF BAWUMIA IN THE SAVANNAH REGION

The nearly six years of Dr. Mahammudu Bawumia’s tenure as Vice President of Ghana is decorated with broken promises, deceit, failed policies and economic bankruptcy.

Mr. Emmanuel Safo Sadari in an article to sum up the bizarre performance of the NPP government for the year 2022 in the Savannah Region and copied to PAD FM, stated that “In the Savannah Region, the worse performing Vice President in the history of Ghana, Dr. Mahammudu Bawumia, has successfully etched his name in stone as a man without values. A complete reneger and a man with no principles”.

Mr. Emmanuel emphasised that “In recent times, ”BawuLiar”, has become a household name affectionately ascribed to Bawumia for his unrepentant attitude of consistently lying to the good people of the Savannah Region, Ghana and the world”.

It will be recalled that in 2018, one Mr. Frank Akulley and his German Partners (Ghana First Company Limited) signed a Public-Private partnership agreement with the NPP government with “Bawuliar” designated as the ambassador of the partnership. Mr. Emmanuel revealed.

Under this partnership, some 20,000 units of modern automated toilet facilities were to be constructed across the country of which the Savannah Region was captured as a beneficiary region. The perceived ‘modern’ toilets were supposedly designed with automatic shower devices, water closets, store rooms and receptions, with patrons of the facilities paying for their usage via an electronic mechanism.

Mr. Emmanuel noted that after four years of introducing this project, the Ghana First toilet projects have compassionately been abandoned with little to no options available to residents of the largest region in the country in terms of land size rather than resorting to open defecation. Failure to bring the toilet projects to see the light of day has culminated the Savannah Region into consistently scoring weak grades and poor marks in terms of Sanitation, a sub-sector of the local economy.

Unapologetically, results of the 2021 District League Table under the auspices of NDPC and associate Civil Society Organisations saw the Savannah Region emerging last amongst 16 regions and 261 districts in key sectors like Sanitation.

Mr. Emmanuel pleaded with Dr. Bawumia to redeem his promises to the people of the Savannah Region as the curtains of the year draws to a close. “The good people of the Savannah Region are waiting patiently and expectant of Dr. Mahammudu Bawumia (Bawuliar) to redeem his sunken image by commencing work on the abandoned Ghana First toilet facilities in the Savannah Region”.

Additionally, the good people of Damongo, the capital of the Savannah Region, expect to have water flow through their taps on the new year’s eve. For a single project with “funding sourced” and five (5) sod cutting ceremonies, residents of Damongo expect to inhale some air of relief when they see water run through their taps. The Deputy Savannah Regional Secretary reiterated.

According to him, It is a complete circle of 12 months (1 year) when Dr. Bawumia (Bawuliar) passionately lied to the people of Daboya that the construction of the Daboya bridge was to be commenced in 2021. “Dear Bawuliar, the Wasipe-Wura and the people of Daboya well adorned with their colorful smocks and melodious rythmm of their local drums, today, December 31st 2022, are still waiting at the banks of the White Volta to receive your contractors at site”. Mr. Emmanuel stated.

The Deputy Savannah Regional Secretary added that after several promises and pledges, Bolewura Kutuge-feso (I) and the youth of Bole, are still waiting for your contractors to commence works on the construction of the Bole College of Education project which was initiated by the visionary leader, H.E John Mahama/NDC led government.

Furthermore, the good people of North-East Gonja are yet to receive the District hospital, the senior high school and the small town water project you promised them, Dear Bawuliar.

Lastly, the Yagbonwura and the entire Gonjaland kingdom are awaiting your presence to grace the commissioning ceremony of the non-existent Regional House of Chiefs complex project which you promised them but failed to honor.

Noticeably, the story of the Savannah region regarding the deceitful character of the worst performing Vice President of the Fourth Republic, Dr. Mahammudu Bawumia aka Bawuliar is not different from the rest of the country where he has spearheaded abandoned projects, initiated uncompleted projects and led failed promises in almost every sector of the Ghanaian Economy.

Mr. Bawuliar, the above among others are stated humbly to remind you and the failed NPP led administration to start parking bag and baggage for the nation messiah, H.E John Dramami Mahama is on his return journey to rescue the good people of Ghana from your gross maltreatment.
