The King and Overlord of Gonja Kingdom, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I has commended a youth group based in Damongo called BASE ONE for clearing/cleaning in and around the Jakpa Palace, the seat of the Yagbonwura in Damongo.
Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto said the actions of the group will help keep the Palace clean and also, reduce the risk associated with reptiles and other stuffs.
Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto made the commendation on Saturday, July 8, 2023 whilst interacting with members of BASE ONE at his current Palace after the youth group voluntarily cleared bushy grasses around the Jakpa Palace.
He called on all youth groups within the Gonja Kingdom to emulate the massive communal spirit exhibited by BASE ONE to help renew communal activities. And assured BASE ONE that his doors are widely opened to assist the youth group promote good initiatives.
The vice president of BASE ONE Rayan Yussif, who spoke on behalf of the president Techi Ibrahim (Pablo), expressed gratitude to the leader of the Gonja Kingdom for giving BASE ONE the chance to undertook the clean up activities around the Palace. This he said was done to promote clean environment around the area.
Rayan Yussif appealed to King not to hesitate to call on BASE ONE anytime, any day the need arises. Saying “we are a youth group ready to serve the Gonja Kingdom and Ghana”.
BASE ONE is a youth group based in Damongo, in the West Gonja municipality of the Savannah region. BASE ONE is one of the decent youth groups in Gonjaland and Ghana with positive communal and national spirit. The group has been in existence for close to a decade and is duly registered with the National Youth Authority.
BASE ONE has varied youth experts in nursing, sciences, agriculture, teaching and learning, carpentry and joinery, local government experts, media practitioners, photographers, Musicians, young politicians, among others.
During the clean up activities, the youth group was duly supported by the following persons.
