The Municipal Chief executive for West Gonja, Hon. Musah Karim Kusubari on Friday, 14th April, 2023 joined the Muslim fraternity in Murugu, a farming community in the Mole electoral area in the West Gonja municipality to break their fast ( iftar ).
According to the MCE, his visit to the area was to afford him the opportunity to interact with the people and to break his fast together with them as a show of solidarity and respect for the Muslim community in murugu since they are in the month of Ramadan.
The West Gonja MCE also indicated that, Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims, during which they fast from dawn until sunset as a way of purifying the soul and practicing self-discipline and therefore saw the need to join them on the Friday evening to share with them some assorted drinks to break their fast together.
He also explained that, joining his Muslims brothers and sisters for iftar was to enable him build bridges and strengthen the existing relationship between them to demonstrate his commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The MCE joining the Muslims in murugu for iftar to Share meals together was a powerful way to break down barriers and promote understanding between people from different backgrounds and cultures.
During his visit to the area, he paid courtesy calls on some key community leaders and also interacted with party executives where he assured them of government’s commitment to bring more development to the area.
Same period last year, Hon. Musah Karim Kusubari visited some selected communities in the municipality for iftar.
The people were over joyed to have the MCE joining them to break their fast and expressed their gratitude to him for the recognition and honor done them.
He is expected to join the Muslim community in mognori and Mole on Saturday and Sunday respectively for similar activities.
He was led by the electoral area coordinator for Mole, Mr. Yussif Ibrahim and accompanied by the Damongo constituency NPP Nasara coordinator, Mr. Yussif Nsorwura Ibrahim.
