Busunu Micro Boys Fc have been banned from playing matches at the St. Peter’s park following their misconduct during a game against Pro stars of Laribanga in the ongoing West Gonja District Juvenile League Competition in Busunu on 11th July, 2021.

Their action is said to have breached Article 11(2)(a) and 11(2)(b) and Artice 16 (2)(a) and 16 (2)(h) of the GFA Disciplinary Code.

The DFA, based on the Disciplinary Committee’s Report, effected the following sanctions:

  1. Busunu Micro Boys Fc will play the rest of their home matches either at the Damongo Town Park, Damongo Agric College Park or the Laribanga Park.
  2. Busunu Micro Boys Fc will lose 3 points and 3 goals to Pro Stars for the said match.
  3. Busunu Micro Boys Fc should write officially to the DFA apologizing for their misconduct.
  4. Busunu Micro Boys Fc shall receive stiffer sanctions for any future misconducts

Background story

On the 11th July, 2021 Busunu Micro Boys Fc were playing the last match of the first round of the West Gonja District Juvenile League game against Pro Stars at the St Peter’s park in Busunu

Twenty one minutes into the game, referee Faiza Jakpa had to temporarily stop the game after home fans invaded the pitch and verbally assaulted her and threatened her for a decision to send off a Busunu
Micro Boys player.

The player was sent off for verbal assault and the use of abusive words on the referee.

According to the referees report, an infringement was awarded to Busunu Micro Boys in the 21st minute and after whistling for a restart, a Pro Star player with jersey number 3 stood the way to prevent the kick from been taken and a yellow card was issued to him in that regard.

The referee’s action and decision still seem not to go down well with a Busunu Micro Boy with jersey number 18 which resulted in the verbal exchange.

The home fans were not happy with the referee’s decision either. They thronged onto the pitch to insult and assault the referee verbally.

After the safety of officials could not be guaranteed and with darkness approaching the game was brought to an abrupt end. Having reviewed the match report the Disciplinary Committee sat on the issue and made its recommendations.

It is important to add that Busunu Micro Boys fc were warned earlier on a similar account on 20th June, 2021 when they played at home against Savannah Youth fc where referee Alhassan Sulemana was attacked verbally and threatened.

Busunu Micro Boys fc has been given four days to respond to the sanctions.

Meanwhile unconfirmed reports from the camp of the Micro Boys has it that Busunu will pull out of the competition.

The second round of the West Gonja District Juvenile League is expected to resume on Saturday, 31st July, 22021.
