Organic farming Aid (OFA) on 2nd December, 2022 joined the West Gonja Municipality and Savannah Region to celebrate our gallant farmers for their hard work and for their contribution to the agric sector development in the region.
The Savannah Regional ambassador for the Organic Farming Aid, Mr. Sumani Iddrisu used the opportunity to introduce OFA produce to farmers by encouraging them to use organic products in their farming methods hence, introducing OFA to the farmer at the gathering
OFA, (Organic Farming Aid) is a natural, non-toxic, multipurpose, liquid agro-input based on biochar distillate.
HJA Africa has been making and selling OFA in Ghana since 2018. OFA contains acetic acid and more than 100 organic compounds which act as plant micro-nutrients.
He explained the importance of OFA to the farmers saying OFA is highly cost effective, it increases yields, controls many pests, and stops fungal attacks. OFA increases farmer profits by improving farm productivity and the quality of crops produced, whilst also protecting farmer and consumer health, benefitting the environment, and reducing emissions of gases causing climate change.
The Ambassador Further explained that OFA has outstandingly good farmer feedback from all parts of Ghana, across vegetables, cereals and tree crops, for yield enhancement, pest control and a fungicide.
When asked about farmer good yield Mr. Sumani Iddrisu Said that OFA has excellent research results from independent field trials by the university of Ghana, and the council for scientific and industrial research’s crops research and savannah research institute (CSIR CRI).
Adding that research from the university of Ghana shows that OFA increases yield more than NPK which is 10% cost of the NKP, indicating that farmers using OFA products could save 40% of the usual NPK costs.
OFA products are available in over 100 agro inputs shops across Ghana and in the Savannah Region from Mr. Sumani Iddrisu in the West Gonja municipality.
