Public notice – Canteen Electoral Area
(Office of Assemblyman)
17th February,2023
Subject: Temporal Ban on Fetching of Canteen Dam for Commerical Purposes
The chiefs, opinion leaders and elders of Canteen, the Assemblyman and his Unit Commitee wish to announce for the information of the general public that, henceforth, there is ban on the fetching of water from the CANTEEN DAM for commercial and other purposes, aside domestic use.
The directive has become necessary as a result of the critically low level and gradual drying of the century long water source of the area coupled with varied public concerns raised.
The general public is accordingly advised to abide by the directive in their own interest as failure may attract huge sanctions, including fines.
Owing to the urgency of the matter and the need to protect the only big water source in the community and the marine animals therein,we would not hesitate to go whatever length to unleash communal punitive measures on potential flauters of this directive.
You’re accordingly advised!
We regret any inconvenience caused and advice victims to exploit the other many alternative means of generating their income among others.
Counting very much on your usual kind cooperation and support.
Thank you.
I gladly remain,
