Residents of Attributo, a suburb in Damongo in the West Gonja municipality of the savannah region has been hit by serious water crisis leaving residents in the area to their faiths.
Members of the community who spoke with our reporter blamed the situation to the selfishness of some individuals persons in the area who have decided to drilled private boreholes very closed to the main water source in the area drilled by government.
According to them, the act by the private individuals is affecting the functionality and water supply system of the government owned borehole in the area as expected.
Another supportive water supply source in the Attributo Community are Mallam Bukari’s Wells and mechanised system which are also very low in their water supply to the community and other surrounding communities.
Mallam Bukari who spoke on the situation disclosed that his water facility serves over 300 households in the Damongo municipality which includes residents of Attributo, Ngbaripe, parts of Langbonto and Yagbonkura.
He also said, students from the Damongo senior school currently relies on the Wells he dug with his own man power to get water for the people in the area and appealed to stakeholders in the municipality especially those who can support him financially to expand his water source to be able to supply enough for the good people of Damongo.
He also pleaded to the MP, the MCE and NGO’s who can help in that direction to come to the aid of the people by supporting him to resilient in the supply of water to the above mentioned areas and community.
