MTN Ghana has announced plans to equip health facilities across the country with hospital beds and other critical healthcare support interventions as part of its 2026 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign, which runs from June 1 to June 21.
The annual employee volunteerism programme, now in its 19th year, will see MTN staff undertake a series of health-focused projects under the theme, “Expand Equitable Health for Every Community.” The initiative seeks to address healthcare access challenges, particularly in rural, remote and underserved communities where residents continue to face barriers to quality health services.

As part of this year’s campaign, MTN employee volunteers will repair damaged hospital beds and donate new ones to selected health centres. The programme will also include community health outreach activities, digital health education campaigns, telemedicine-enabled services, public health screening exercises, and the deployment of digital tools to strengthen healthcare delivery.
According to MTN Ghana, the interventions are designed to improve access to preventive, primary and responsive healthcare while supporting efforts to tackle the growing incidence of non-communicable diseases.

Since its inception nearly two decades ago, the 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign has mobilised thousands of MTN employees to support community development initiatives in education, healthcare, youth empowerment and economic development. Over the past six years, the programme has expanded its reach significantly through the dedication of employee volunteers contributing countless hours to community service.

Speaking ahead of the launch, MTN Ghana’s Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Adwoa Wiafe, said the company remains committed to supporting communities through impactful interventions.
“Y’ello Care reflects our belief that meaningful progress begins with meeting communities where they are. We are focusing our efforts on expanding access to quality healthcare, particularly in communities where it remains out of reach for many,” she stated.
She added that MTN’s digital capabilities place the company in a unique position to help bridge healthcare gaps across the country.

“MTN is uniquely positioned to help scale equitable healthcare access across Ghana through the power of connectivity, digital innovation and strategic partnerships. Through Y’ello Care 2026, we are leveraging these capabilities to help communities access healthcare services that are more inclusive, responsive and sustainable,” she said.

The telecommunications company noted that the campaign will be implemented through partnerships with government agencies, non-governmental organisations and local stakeholders to ensure solutions are community-driven, sustainable and responsive to local needs.
MTN Ghana said the initiative underscores its commitment to inclusive development and strengthening the resilience of communities through improved healthcare access.
